Three ways you can keep things together when they don’t quite go to plan.
What’s the most important trait you can have as a Realtor? In our opinion, it’s resilience, or, as we say around the office, your rebound rate. This is your ability to keep moving forward when things don’t go as planned, and today we want to share a few tips to help you get better at this:
1. Acknowledge emotions. Don’t react; just recognize that it’s supposed to feel this way. Take a step back and acknowledge your or your customer’s emotions.
2. Be the calm voice of reason. When you’re calm and reassuring, everyone else is, too. Words are powerful, but your tone of voice is even more powerful.
3. Adapt. Come up with a new plan of action. Give choices to your customer; don’t back them into a corner.
Real estate is often emotional, so don’t try to lead with logic. Deal with the emotions first, and everyone will be able to think clearer afterward.
